English Language tuition and examinations
Our classes have a maximum of only 8 students. We believe that this is the best possible number for rapid progress and a productive, enjoyable learning environment. We can prepare you for the Cambridge Key English Test, Preliminary, First Certificate and Advanced examinations (maximum 10 per class).
We offer General English (25 or 21 lessons per week), English for Business (25 lessons per week) and Cambridge Examination courses (25or 21 lessons per week). Each lesson is 50 minutes.
For those who wish to make very fast progress in a short time Polyglot provides Individual Intensive Courses (30 or 25 lessons per week). Individual lessons can also be combined with Group classes (e.g. five group lessons in the morning and two Individual Lessons in the afternoon).

Admissions procedure
You complete your enrolment form and send it to us (or do it online). You pay your full fees or deposit (2 weeks' course fees) and your Enrolment Fee by direct transfer to our bank account or by credit card. We will quickly acknowledge your enrolment and send you a Letter of Acceptance (you will need this to apply for a student visa). If you are unable to obtain a visa we will return your fees less an administrative charge, which will not be greater than the Enrolment Fee of ё40.

Accommodation
We provide good quality homestay accommodation very near the school (usually 10-15 minutes on foot).

The Language Centre at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne has long experience of helping overseas students to learn English. Since it was set up in 1969, the Language Centre has been helping students improve their English through high quality English language courses. It was, for example, one of the first British universities to offer a Summer School for students of English. The courses which the Language Centre offers are all designed and run by full-time staff of the University, assisted by well-qualified part-time teachers.
A programme of visits to places of interest in Newcastle, the North of England and Scotland is part of all our intensive English courses. The area surrounding Newcastle is particularly beautiful with hills, forests and superb beaches.

Accommodation: The following options are available:
Option 1: Host family - you live as a part of a British family and have breakfast and dinner with them. You have a single room and share the family bathroom. Travelling to ELI usually takes about 30 - 40 minutes by train.
Option 2: Royal Waterloo House (ELI Campus). Students are accommodated in basic twin rooms with bunk beds and there are shared bathrooms on each corridor. All meals are eaten in the campus dining room. There are no travel costs as you live and study in the same building.
